For this dadcraft project you will need:
- Card
- Clear plastic sheets (old overhead sheets)
- Marker pens
- OHT pens
- Lightbox for image tracing or...
- Courtesy of www.docsquiffy.com I am lucky enough to own a mini Smart projector that I can use to project images to trace/adapt.
- On A5 card create a full image for the inside of the card. We made some featuring The Incredibles and some involving Darth Vader. Add your message.
3. Fold a full sheet of card to create a windowed envelope. We folded the top and bottoms back to wrap around the design, using an extra bit of card at the back to patch it together. Cut a window in the front of the envelope. Slot, and glue, a sheet of white paper in the middle to 'hide' the design. Make sure you glue it on tabs (the paper needs to be a bit bigger than A5) otherwise the card won't fit.
4. Slide in your design and away you go. Our eldest decided that the Darth Vader card should say "You are my mummy" which I actually thought may make it the funniest, most ironic fathers day card ever!
Oh my word, this is awesome. I am tempted to buy some acetate because I can soooo imagine my kids would love this. What a great idea. Love, love, love.
