"Once upon a time a princess lived in a castle with her Daddy and they had lots of banisters which meant they could stand on the roof. Then they went inside and looked at a picture, but she really wanted to go out. She looked outside and then went for a walk when she found a witch and a young prince. The witch gave the Prince a golden apple which turned him into a frog. The witch said "WHAAAT?!?! How did that happen?" The End. "

Whilst not Shakespeare, this is what our 4 year old came up within 2 minutes of opening the The Story Box. I've been looking forward to buying this since first seeing it in Waterstone's probably about a year ago, and the first attempt was reassuringly positive.

Beautifully packaged and well illustrated, The Story Box is an excellent imagination and creativity developer. By choosing from 20 double sided jigsaw pieces you can build a story line that can lead to infinite stories once you developed them whilst telling the tale.

Whilst I happily admit that this is a lot more expensive than coming up with the story yourself, I feel the game, and more importantly the visual element, really add to the experience.

As mentioned this is a very initial review of The Story Box, but early impressions match what I'd hoped and I look forward to all of us playing with this for weeks and months to come.
